Biography Ana Paulina Lee's research and teaching interests are in 19th and 20th century Brazilian literary and cultural studies, Asian and African diasporic cultures in the Americas, Chinese immigration to the Americas, with an emphasis on Brazil, critical race and gender theory, decoloniality, performance, and memory studies. Lee has been a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stone Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Fulbright and the Fundação Luso-Americana have supported her research. She is a founding executive committee member of the Hemispheric American studies forum at the MLA, and co-founder of the Hemi Graduate Student Initiative (Hemi GSI) Convergences, organized under the auspices of the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics where she currently co-leads the Hemi Pedagogy Executive Council Subcommittee in developing initiatives that intersect digital media, pedagogy, performance and politics. Professor Lee serves on the editorial board of Asian Diasporic Visual Cultures and the Americas (Brill).
